“The Fan out texture shears are one of the best performing texture shears I’ve ever used to break up solid lines in hair. The curved design of each tooth allows the shears to leave the hair effortlessly, and the radical styling of the multi-pointed ends of each tooth can create tons of action in the hair. Amazing performance, “they're like butter!”
Shannon King is clearly one of an elite group of international hair stylists. Shannon is not only the International Artistic Leader of Hair Cuttery, the largest privately-owned salon chain in the United States with over 800 salons. He also serves as an ambassador for both Hair Cuttery and Redken in Europe and Asia having performed on stage in events in Korea and England.
Together these experiences make Shannon’s abilities incredibly well rounded; from his ability to inspire fellow stylists to explore their creativity and build on their technical skills, to selecting and developing strong international artistic teams that’s work has said to “Rival the Alternative Hair Show”, said Modern Salon.
In addition to his international travels, Shannon travels nationally working with educators and performing at hair shows. Shannon also develops curriculum for classes, including Redken’s Men’s Design and the Manual. Then he trains the trainers who implement the curriculum. Shannon’s energy and passion for learning makes his programs effective. He says,“People learn better when we’re having fun.”
When he’s not teaching, Shannon consults on photo shoots; he serves as a company spokesman for trends and techniques. He has the pleasure of working on photo shoots for various trade publications including Modern Salon, American Salon and Hair Sophisticate. Shannon demonstrates his special gifts in classes as small as 15 and trade shows drawing over 2,000. He also enjoys facilitating at the Redken Exchange in New York City and the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas.
More than the travel, performing, training and choreography, Shannon always enjoys salon work. “Being behind the chair is where it all starts and where it all comes together.”
